This second exhibition of Letters to the Earth: Between Despair and Hope is another invitation to participate in a conversation about the environmental crisis, affecting us directly. We need this conversation and to keep the talk going.
Participants and viewers are asked to share this discussion. It is our children’s future that we must preserve. We cannot sit back and blame corporations, the government, the rich, or the things that happened a generation ago.
The time for action is now.
Participants all wrote a Letter to the Earth as their commitment to the project. The artworks you will see address the current crisis and are talking points for future conversations.
As Winston Churchill said in a November 1936 speech, “The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to its close. In its place, we are entering a period of consequences.”
