We’re Looking For Volunteers!
The Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture would not be the charitable organization it is without the generous support we receive from volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, learning about the visual arts or gaining administrative experience, join our team of volunteers!
As a volunteer at the GCAC, you will:
- meet passionate and like-minded people
- contribute to the community
- develop skills and interests
Available Opportunities
The Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture offers many different types of opportunities, including but not limited to:
- leading tours
- greeting guests
- assisting in set-up for events
- organizing the Gallery Shoppe
- and much more!
Event Volunteers
Event Volunteers will assist with performing arts, concerts, live events, Gallery events and more! We are looking for Volunteers who have evening and weekend availability to complete a minimum of two shifts per month.
Fundraising Volunteers
Volunteers work and support a variety of fundraising initiatives throughout the calendar year. Joining the GCAC Fundraising Volunteer Committee is a rewarding way for you to help support the vital role the GCAC plays in our community and helps us provide the first rate programming that we strive for.
Education Volunteers
Education Volunteers will assist with education programs, in-gallery events, family activities and more! We are looking for volunteers with daytime and weekend availability to complete a minimum of one shift per month. Volunteers 19 years of age or older will be required to submit a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Student Volunteers
Students are also able to gain their 40 hours of community service by supporting The Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture at various events and festivals.
Volunteer Docent
Love art? Love to talk about it? Docents facilitate conversations and lead activities with visitors in the Permanent Collection, Special Exhibitions, and Outreach Programs. Docents promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of exhibition goals and help ensure that Gallery visitors have amazing experiences.
Volunteer Orientation
All prospective Volunteers must attend an interview and the Volunteer Orientation Session before they can begin volunteering with the GCAC.
The Volunteer Orientation provides an outline of the Volunteer duties, information about the GCAC Volunteer Program policies and procedures and more. It is also the space to ask any questions before starting to volunteer.
All volunteers must pass a Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing volunteering with the Organization.
Our volunteer program is run in accordance to Canadian standard best practices to ensure a positive and mutually rewarding experience.
